Songwriter Showcase
A small room, and people who came to listen
Every couple of months, Sun Dogs puts on a songwriter showcase at The Handsome Daughter in Winnipeg (61 Sherbrook St). Doors around 7, a small cover at the door, and a short lineup of songwriters — usually a mix of people who've been at it a while and people just getting started. Doug hosts most nights and usually plays a song or two himself.
It's set up more like a listening room than a typical show: songs get introduced, stories get told, and the room is genuinely there for the music.
